About the Wilesco D5 Advent Calendar
Make the countdown to Christmas more exciting with the Wilesco Advent Calendar. Behind each of the 24 doors are parts and components needed to assemble a Wilesco D5 steam engine, allowing you to gradually build your very own working model throughout December.
On Christmas Eve, the final pieces reveal the finished Wilesco D5, complete with its exclusive grey baseplate. Once assembled, the D5 is a fully working model steam engine that can be fired and operated, making the Advent Calendar much more than a traditional Christmas countdown.
With around 2 hours of assembly time if built from start to finish, you can either complete the Wilesco D5 in one sitting or enjoy the experience piece by piece, opening a new door each day.
The Wilesco Advent Calendar makes a particularly unusual Christmas gift for steam engine enthusiasts, model makers, engineers and anyone who enjoys building mechanical models. It combines the anticipation of an Advent calendar with the satisfaction of creating a working Wilesco steam engine.
The calendar includes Wilesco fuel gel for operating the engine, and the D5 can also be upgraded to run on gas using a BIX 026 gas conversion kit.
