Step back into the golden age of steam with the Wilesco D300, a faithful tribute to the legendary “Hohenlimburg” box locomotive first introduced in 1899. Originally operated on the Hohenlimburg narrow-gauge railway, these compact two-axle box locomotives were specially designed to master tight curve radii and urban track sections—making them ideal workhorses of early rail transport.
Wilesco brings this historic icon to life as a fully functional live steam model, meticulously crafted and finished in an authentic green, black, and red livery inspired by turn-of-the-century locomotives. Its enclosed body, compact proportions, and clean, purposeful lines give the D300 a distinctive character that feels both robust and elegant.
Designed for G gauge (45 mm) and fully compatible with LGB® systems, the D300 is not just a display piece, it’s built to run! During operation, real steam visibly escapes from the chimney, delivering an immersive and captivating steam locomotive experience that delights collectors and operators alike.

A radio controlled speed control system is planned for the D300, as is a Bix gas conversion.
